Introducing our new Manager of Development and Marketing!
We are thrilled to welcome a new member to the team at the Art Gallery of Windsor. Meet our new Manager of Development and Marketing: Melissa Parker!
Melissa joins is from the thriving metropolis of London, Ontario. Having spent her formative years there, she ventured to Vancouver for university where she studied English, theatre and a little bit of art. She started on her career path at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in a development assistant role. Soon, however, homesickness hit and she returned to Ontario. After a few years back in London, she made the big move to Toronto. Melissa spent several years doing contract work around the Big Smoke for places like Ryerson University, Toronto International Film Festival and Starlight Children’s Foundation. A cool opportunity at London Life brought her back to her hometown where she continued for way too long to work in more contract roles at Let’s Talk Science, Montessori Academy of London and most recently the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Western. Melissa is a proud mom to two ridiculous boy kitties and enjoys all things artsy in nature — music, literature, writing, film, theatre and of course visual arts. She is excited to join the Art Gallery of Windsor and bring her enthusiasm, creativity and tenacity to the team.
You will find Melissa:
- Executing fundraising strategies for the Gallery
- Strengthening relationships with donors, sponsors, members, and community partners
- Implementing strategic communications and marketing plans
- Collaborating with other departments to help further the strategic plan initiatives and goals
Melissa is looking forward to…
…learning more about Windsor, exploring the creative culture there, and doing what she can to be a contributing member of the community.
