The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee goes Disco!
The Queen is coming.
On Friday, July 1 from 12–4 pm, drag performer Disco Jesus will be making a royal appearance at Art Windsor-Essex — with a live performance at 3 pm —for the celebration Feeling Regal: High Tea for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This Queen may not be the monarch of the United Kingdom, but she rules the Windsor-Essex region with a scepter in one hand and a disco ball in the other.

Why is the Platinum Jubilee so important to you?
For me personally, this Platinum Jubilee, the Queen's 70th Platinum Jubilee, is celebrating the significance of a woman who has been in power and an inspiration to the world for 70 years. And it is so important, no matter what part of the world, that we celebrate women in power and command.
Can you describe the outfit that you have planned for the Platinum Jubilee?
I studied photos of the Queen’s original coronation outfit and wanted to pay homage to elements of the original outfit, while also bringing in elements of drag and ballroom opulence and grandeur as well. So starting from the bottom up, I have a fabulous pair of white, sparkly royal boots.
I have a wonderful nude undergarment that is this beautiful lace, liquid lace that is just laying against my skin perfectly and has a great base. We then have a fabulous white cage skirt with accented hips on the left and the right to add to that opulence and grandeur. We then have a beautiful tool nude champagne, gown, something neutral. I didn’t want to go super extreme, but I also wanted to be covered up while still having a tasteful color, which is why I chose champagne.
I have on fabulous white velour gloves…an Elizabethan collar with a gold embroidered accent around my neck. We then have another lace gold lamé piece falling over my chest and then finally in my right hand, I have a fabulous scepter with some red ruby red jewels in my left hand.
I have a fabulous disco ball with a diamond crystal cross attached to the top, and I’m wearing a very Victoria Jeune Fashion Week in Paris, blow out runway regal wig with this fabulous crown sitting on top of my head.
