Windsor Life Magazine featured AWE’s Executive Director in its latest issue

Art Windsor-Essex Executive Director, Jennifer Matotek’s contract has been renewed bringing five more years of innovation and community engagement to the city’s art gallery.

Jennifer Matotek became Executive Director of the Art Gallery of Windsor (now Art Windsor-Essex) in 2020, bringing a fresh vision to engage Essex County’s community through contemporary art.

With a background in curating and public engagement, she championed a rebrand to AWE, expanded accessibility with projects like “Look Again!,” and shifted the gallery’s focus to contemporary relevance.

Under her leadership, AWE became Ontario’s most-nominated gallery for awards, and she continues fostering local cultural enrichment through initiatives like AWE’s upcoming Night Light festival. Recently, Jennifer accepted a five-year contract extension, affirming her commitment to transforming Windsor’s art scene.
