Who is that capybara?
The AGW’s Teen Arts Council just held their first workshop on March 6th. Our keen-eyed viewers might have noticed that the event’s graphic featured something special — there was a little capybara in the corner of the graphic!
This capybara happens to be Clément, the mascot of the AGW’s Teen Arts Council. Here to tell you more about Clément are two of our Council members: Matt and Sophia!
How did Clément get to the AGW?
Clément was used as a muse for many artists during the Renaissance and therefore they were taken and transported all across the world. In the 18th century, Clément took a little boat and was lost in transit to one of the most revered artists, left along the border from Detroit, unbeknownst to their transporters. Just a few miles away was the Art Gallery of Windsor, where Clément took up their roots in art. After seeing all of the cool artwork at the Gallery, they decided to stay!
Where is Clément from?
Clément is from Columbia and Venezuela!
How old is Clément?
Clément is immortal, but if you ask them, they will say 22.
What type of an artist is Clément?
Clément has experience in anything ranging from watercolours to mineral etchings to intense avant-garde performance art, but they will forever have a soft spot in their roots, Clément’s trusty oil palettes. Clément enjoys painting out in nature, and is known as a lovely calm creature who loves to paint.
Why is Clément the perfect fit as the Teen Council’s mascot?
The answer is simple — no other mascot has Clément’s guts and experience!
Where can people see Clément?
People will see Clément whenever the Teen Council holds an event, standing stoically and gracefully to signify it. Watch out for them on event posters and notifications to see what the Teen Council has in store at the AGW!
About the AGW’s Teen Arts Council
The AGW’s Teen Arts Council exists to center the voices, ideas, and dreams of teen creatives as pivotal to the programs and culture of the Art Gallery of Windsor. The Council will serve as a platform to allow youth access to a network of creative professionals, will support youth in bringing their whole creative selves to the council, and will serve as a launchpad for members to shine in their future artistic endeavours.
